About

Building Structure Where Complexity Lives

My career has developed across different organizations, missions, and functional areas—but the work has consistently centered on one question:

How do you take something complicated, inconsistent, or underperforming and make it work better?

Healthcare Operations

My early career at Langley Air Force Base established the foundation, beginning in medical office administration in 2004 and returning in 2008 as a Lead Referral Specialist supervising a multidisciplinary referral-management team. That work exposed me early to utilization analysis, operational policy, performance measures, training, workflow design, and the financial consequences of process decisions. At Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, my responsibilities expanded into operational and analytical support for Traumatic Brain Injury, Neuropsychology, and a Mobile Assessment Unit.

02

Regional Operations & Federal Acquisition

Over more than eight years at Navy Medicine East, later redesignated Naval Medical Forces Atlantic, I progressed through Management Analyst I, II, and III into regional Contract Closeout SME responsibilities. As my responsibilities expanded, regional process improvement and systems development advanced together: an Excel tracking model grew into a SharePoint site used across the region to standardize tracking and strengthen visibility and accountability. Supporting Navy Medicine and DHA requirements across CONUS and OCONUS commands, that work contributed to an 86% regional backlog reduction, a 96.33% overall DoD audit average, and expedited closure of $54.3M in contract obligations.

03

Project & People Leadership

I moved to NAVMEDLOGCOM approximately a year before the former regional contracting office ceased operations; some of its contract work subsequently transferred there. As Contract Closeout Project Manager supporting NAVMEDLOGCOM through the AbilityOne Program, I directed daily operations and led a four-person specialist team. The structure I developed improved processing efficiency by more than 60%. In FY2024, the team exceeded its annual closeout goal with 962 contracts closed and $4,263,944.12 de-obligated, supported in part by Operation IDIQ Clean Sweep. My focus was not simply production. It was creating an operating environment in which people could perform consistently: clear procedures, usable tools, realistic training, measurable expectations, quality review, workload balancing, and accountability.

Entrepreneurial Leadership

As Founder and Principal Consultant of Competitive Edge Innovations, I apply those same principles to smaller organizations and individual clients—designing repeatable workflows, documentation, templates, tracking tools, and federal bid-support materials intended to make execution clearer and more consistent.

Career-long validation

How I work

I work best where the mission matters, expectations are high, and there is something meaningful to improve.

Operations
Understanding how work actually moves.
People
Creating clarity, accountability, and usable support.
Process
Replacing unnecessary friction with repeatable structure.
Data
Making performance visible enough to act on.
Execution
Moving from recommendation to implementation.

The pattern hasn’t changed

The titles have changed. The organizations have changed. The problems have changed.

Identify the problem. Build the structure. Align the people. Measure the result.

That is the work I want to continue doing.
